English (Ripp) | We finished the quarter with our how-to speech, It was a lot of fun to see all the many talents kids have and gave us a way to practice our speaking skills as well. We have a talented bunch of kids and to see them show off in front of each other was just joyful. I also want to shout out the incredible growth I saw in the Poetry Analysis summative - wow. So much care and thought given to their responses, everyone has come a really long way.
We will be doing another speech when the 4th quarter kicks off; Shark Tank, and then Forward Exam will happen April 5th-8th in English. It is hard to believe that we only get a few more months with these incredible kids, I will miss them a lot next year.
Deadlines: 5th reading goal due April 1st Read 2 hours + every week Shark tank will be due April 1st - no fooling. We will intro it after break.
Questions to ask: How did your how-to speech go? How did you do with analyzing poetry? What are your reading plans over break? Are you ready for student-led conferences? Are there things you still need to work on in English?
