Newsletter January 14th, 2022

This marks the end of quarter 2, hard to believe that we are halfway through the year!  We are so grateful for all of these kids and how they show up every day despite the world continuing to be a bit upside down.   We continue to try to keep kids safe so we can continue in-person school, there are a lot of different illnesses going around so wearing a mask properly continues to be a huge focus.

If you or your scholar need extra resources or support from us or the community, just reach out.  We have incredible support staff that can help with many different things from housing, food, mental health, and other resources you may need.  We know this year continues to be a lot and want to help carry the load in any way we can.

We are wrapping up our mini unit on figurative language.  We have learned about simile and metaphor, personification, and hyperbole.  In addition, the students had a chance to use these newly learned techniques in completing their Yahara River Writing Contest project.

Please continue to support and ask about their independent Reading Books.  Each student is supposed to be reading at least 20 minutes outside of class each day.
