Congratulations to all of our 211 WSMA Solo and Ensemble participants from OMS! We are proud of your music achievements and participation in district festival this past weekend! We had several OMS events qualify for state festival. Orchestra students Laura Maurer and Brynn D'Amelio-Will's violin duet qualified. Lucy Fradkin-Annen also advanced to state.
Parents, please check your email for a message from Mrs. Black about summer opportunities for continued music study as well as important dates that are coming up for our musicians.
Bill's receipts - this is an ongoing fundraiser. Please, continue to send them in with your child to place in the basket located on top of our folder shelving.

Congratulations on a wonderful Solo/Ensemble and March concert! Thank you to all the families who attended to experience students’ demonstration of their learning and growth. Students also thoughtfully reflected on that growth and progress on Wednesday, following their concert.
New music learning, Rhythm work and F Major Scale and etude assessments will begin next week.
Ask your student: Think about what you were able to demonstrate last year at this time in 6th grade compared to now. How have you grown? How do you know?
Geography (Stoller):
We took a quick quiz on taxes and supply and demand. Great topics to discuss with your learner as you discuss 'tax season' and the price of various products. Next week, we will apply those ideas to our discussion of OPEC and the cost of gasoline and how that relates to our relationship with the Middle East.
*What are the 3 main types of taxes collected?
*What do taxes pay for?
*What does OPEC stand for?
*How does OPEC affect my life?
