What a fantastic homecoming week we have had.  It has been wonderful to see the kids dressed p and eager to embrace Panther Pride.  We are really getting into our groove here in 7th grade as well.  Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns regarding your child.

Talking Points With Your Child:
Geography (Stoller)

• Students learned about the 5 Themes of Geography this week.  Ask them what the themes are!  

• Next week, we will work on a project that incorporates all they know about the themes.  Students have the choice to work with a partner or alone but partners both receive the same grade.  We speak at length about the pros and cons of each option so you may want to ask your child what his/her choice was.  Projects will be due 10/12 but only 3 in class days next week will be given.  

• Following that, we will be doing activities to prepare for Urban Challenge.

Geography (Howe)
We'll begin working on our 5 Themes project Monday. Tentative due date is October 5th.

English (Ripp)

• How did their speech go?  

• What are their speaking goals?

• What is an aha moment?

• Which root words did they work?

Westrich:

• English: Ender's Game & Challenge Text, Word Work

• German: Review Waldo notes

Integrated Literacy:
Ask students about their six word memoir 

Math (Gratzl)

• If you are given three side lengths, how can you figure out if those side lengths actually make a triangle without drawing it?

• What is the minimum amount of information that you need to draw a triangle congruent to another triangle?

• When are quiz corrects due?

• When is our next math test?

Tech Tools

• What do we use easybib.com for?

•  When is the vocabulary quiz?
