Newsletter December 8th, 2019

Now is a great time to check Infinite Campus and see how your learner is doing.  Do they have missing assignments or things they need to re-take? Are there more ways they need to be supported or things they need to do continue to be successful?  Homework club is every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 3:20 to 4:20 PM and there is a late bus for kids to take if they need to.
A huge congratulations to all of our kids who are able to participate in a verity of performances this month.  There is a lot going on outside of school that is making us very proud as their teachers!
Starting Monday, is our OMS Holiday Connections challenge, our annual fundraiser to help provide gifts for families who are otherwise unable to at OMS.  This is a great way to donate to the community, any amount will be much appreciated, just send it in with your learner and they will pass it on during connections.  Last year we raised just over $5,486.  We realize this was an amazingly successful year so, as a school, we have set a goal to get back to $4,000 again this year.
What Happens With the Money? On Friday, December 13th, just under twenty members of the OMS Student Council will go to the Janesville Mall for the afternoon and will shop with the money earned for gifts for those in need during this holiday season.
All of the money is used to help purchase gifts for people and families in both the OMS community.  We have over 50 students that Shannon, Jason and the OMS Student Services Department have worked with who are on our list of those in need this year.  For many of these families, without this program they may not have gifts for the holidays.
You can send in cash or checks, written to Oregon Middle School, all week.
