We are noticing that many students do not have their needed supplies, namely pencils. Please ask your student if (s)he needs anything and refill those supplies. Also, help Mrs. Ripp get her books back. Please remind your child to look for books that they are done reading or have abandoned.
OMS Book Drive is coming - students are asked to bring in middle school appropriate books or picture books the week after spring break. Books will be used by the students here at OMS and the connections that bring in the most books win a connections party.

Geography (Stoller):
We watched the movie Invictus this week. Ask your student about how Mandela worked to bring unity to South Africa. They have a writing assignment summative to go with the movie. They had two days to work this week and may want to work over break. The assignment will be due Friday, April 1 but they will not have more in class work time.
English (Ripp):
- Students are expected to read at least 3 hours over break, ask which book(s) they plan on reading.
- Performances went great, I am hoping I can share the videos with all of you soon.
- Next up in English is an inquiry into the roles society wants us to play.
Math (Gratzl):
Questions to ask your child about math:
-What is an area model? How could you use one to find the probability of getting heads then heads when you flip two coins?
-What is a tree diagram? How could you use one to find the probability of getting heads then heads when you flip two coins?
Tech Tools (Shumaker):
Students in Tech Tools class have been learning about new websites and tools to use. They need to have 4 projects done by March 18 and 5 done by the end of the quarter. You may see more projects "assigned" in Infinite Campus. Students will do as many projects as they can by the end of 3rd quarter, but they will only be required to do 5. The rest will be exempt. Any questions, please email me at jsh@oregonsd.net.
Have a great spring break!
