Reminder on water only policy:
Just a reminder that scholars can only bring water to drink to school, no soda, juice, Monster energy drinks etc. If a scholar is drinking something other than water, they will be asked to dump it per school policy. If a scholar needs a water bottle, we have awesome Shark ones we will gladly give them.
Shark week next week:
We all could use a little more fun, so next week as part of teacher appreciation week, we will have Shark week!. Scholars will have trivia contests in their Connections, as well as dress-up days. Those who choose to participate can win raffle prizes at the end of the week.
The dress-up days will be as follows:
Monday: Sleepy Shark Day: PJs day
Tuesday: Tip to Tail Day: Wear your funny socks or hats
Thursday: Dress like a shark day
Friday: Oregon Spirit Sharks (Black/Orange)
Shark-Creation Contest:
Give us your best Shark creation! It can be drawn, painted, sculpted, shaped out of legos, decorated on a cake, laid out in recyclable….whatever you can think of! You will need to take a really clear picture of your creation and submit it to Ms Stoller by Thursday May 6 5pm. We will create a slideshow for your classmates to view and then they will vote for their favorite creation. There will be prizes for the top 3 entries. The sky's the limit!
Bring back your books!

English (Ripp) | Please start searching for books! I would love to have all borrowed books that are not being read returned before the end of the year as I pay for them all myself. If a book is lost please let me know, if you can, please replace it. We continue debates and jumped into our first logical fallacies this week. Scholars should take the notes in order to ready for an open note quiz in a few weeks. Deadlines: Questions to ask: |
English (Gunst) | Your students have completed your TED Talk presentation. Be sure to ask them how their’s went. This week we will be starting on a debate unit while also analyzing short pieces of literature. While it is starting to feel like we are coming to the end of the year, it is incredibly important to continue to have your students continue their independent reading. Reading skills are one of the most important indicators for future academic success.
|
Enriched English (Darken) | Students will finish reading their dystopian book club books this week and continue to practice their discussion skills during synchronous classes. We will also be reviewing and building on their knowledge of types of clauses and comma rules.
