Our unit final is fast approaching. Staring on March 4th, students will be completing a listening and a reading assessment. In order to prepare, students should have taken any retakes by the end of the week this week or talk to me ASAP about retaking either the vocabulary or conjugation quiz. Students should also be turning in any late or missing work, which may not be accepted once the unit is complete. Students should look over Unit 3 vocabulary in the meantime in order to practice for the summatives.
Orchestra:
Congratulations to students on a beautiful recital concert!
As we begin focus on new music study in large and small group, we can begin to ask the following questions:
How much time outside of school can I devote to individual work on my instrument and music?
What are the new skills I will need to focus on in order to increase my understanding of the new music?
How can my stand partner or section peers support my learning? How can I support their learning?
Stoller (Geography):
We are starting our Colonization of Africa unit where students will find out why Europeans set up territories in Africa in the 1800s. We will also be lucky enough to have two guest speakers next week. Students should be retaking/redoing any summative less than 2.5.

*What did you learn about Ghana? (Friday)
*Which European countries had a presence in Africa in the 1800s?
*What are some of the effects of European colonization in Africa?
*Why is it called a "Scramble"?

Google classroom: Core Value Billboards were due today.
Questions to ask.

Can I control my decisions every day to help my life situation?
What would be one thing that I would change about my life if my brain could do anything?
Band - Jaeger
Our Wisconsin Winter Plunge was a success! OMS Band students who plunged raised over $2,700 for our school band program. The team members who plunged will have their pizza party during 7th grade lunch this upcoming Wednesday, February 27th. They will need to bring their own beverage.
We are continuing our solo/ensemble unit, where students have been studying in solos or small groups. Please encourage students to practice regularly at home, as their performances are roughly two weeks away. Students who opted to go to festival will be receiving more information on the site and time early next week.
Ask your student: What are you working to improve on your project piece?
