The end of the quarter is next Friday with grades posted the following week. During this quarter students are assessed only with Standards Based Grades, meaning there will be no letter grades posted. Students will typically be assessed on multiple standards within each of their classes and no total grade is, therefore, given. To see more about grading at OMS, please go here http://www.oregonsd.org/OregonMiddle.cfm?subpage=2... Students will also receive "Learning Skill Scores" on their report cards. This is assessed in a separate part of the report card where a "C, S, or R" grade will be given. These scores are not linked to academic standards but are assessed separately.
C= Consistent
S = Sometimes
R = Rarely
New this year is a standard in literature studies and Enriched English that reads "Student reads at grade level." This standard will be assessed through their fall 2017 STAR or F&P score. To be proficient (3) in reading at the 7th grade level, students must be in the 40th percentile or higher according to STAR.
As always, reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
