Newsletter February 17th, 2017

We are really starting to see more projects and deadlines for students, this is the quarter we start to check in less with students as far as making up missed work, getting homework assignments, and such.  Please help your child decide how to best navigate their school demands.

February 24th - Spelling work 3 due (Ripp)

February 25th - Moving Straight Ahead Test (Gratzl)

March 9th - Band Concert 7 PM at OHS

English (Ripp):

The kids are continuing to work on their individual reading challenge goals, please ask them how it is going and why they chose what they chose.  We have also been working on inferring and how this is a skill they need to hone to be successful human beings.

Book orders are due this Monday.

Deadline:  Spelling work 3 due next Friday, the 24th.

Geography (Stoller):

Colonization of Africa quiz 2/21

Ask your learner, "Why did Europe colonize Africa and what are the outcomes of that colonization?"  and "Why was the colonization of Africa called a 'Scramble'?"   We will have a quiz on that Tuesday.  Next week, we will also begin to explore various forms of government used around the world.
