We are more than half way through 3rd quarter. This is a great time to check Infinite Campus with your child to look at missing assignments and see how your learner is progressing in all classes.
Don't forget to sign up for Student Led Conferences! Connections teachers sent an email with a link to sign up online. Contact your student's connections teacher with questions. These conferences are a time for your student to share what (s)he is learning this year. If you wish to speak to teacher or teachers specifically about grades, etc, please contact that teacher to set up a separate time.

Geography (Stoller):
Students are writing about cultural elements of an African country in a Photo Summary Assignment. They are due Tuesday at the start of class. Ask your child what (s)he has learned about the country being studied. Monday, we will have a special presentation by Ms. Poch about her time in Tanzania. I hope your student will be eager to share what was learned that day. The rest of next week, we will be watching the movie Invictus which chronicles Nelson Mandela's work using rugby to help bring a nation together in South Africa. It's always a favorite of students!
English (Ripp):
Great week of class with David Daniel in the room. The students told me numerous times that they he was amazing! We will be starting our Elephant & Piggie plays next week as well as work on being story tellers. Students will also delve into their own reading lives and look at their reading habits and what they still need to work on. Book orders will be sent home Monday as well.
