Newsletter March 13, 2015

The end of the quarter is rapidly approaching and all students have been asked to check IC for missing summatives or work that needs to be re-done or fixed.  Now is a great time to have that conversation at home as well.

Please make sure you have signed up for a student-led conference as well!

This week please ask your child about...

English - Ripp:

  • The grades they were handed Friday - all students received a slip with grades for 4 standards on it: 1, 7, 8 and 9 and what they would be if end of quarter grades were given today.  (If they have handed me re-takes in the last two days, I have not had a chance to assess them yet).
  • If they did not like the grades they have, it is up to them to show mastery, so ask what they plan to do.
  • The book they are reading.
  • Whether their writing project is almost done.
Math - Stauss:
  • What activity did you do in class on Friday?
  • What kinds of questions were on your summative you took on Wednesday?
  • Are you taking notes and correcting your homework during math class?
Geography - Van Hout/Stoller
  • Ask your child about Darfur and the video they are watching
FACE -
  • Whether they finished all of their food labs.
  • How did they like the pumpkin muffins?
