OMS Holiday Connections Challenge

Next week (December 8-12) the OMS Student Council will be running our 5th Annual Holiday Connections Challenge.

This is a fundraiser which is organized by the OMS Student Council and run through Connections classes.  We are asking OMS staff, students and families who wish to donate money through their Connections class to this fundraiser which helps both families in our school family and in the greater Madison area community as well.  It is also a competition between Connections classes with rewards for those who participate and donate the most money to this cause.
What Happens With the Money That is Collected in Connections Classes?
On Friday, December 12th, twenty members of the OMS Student Council will go to West Towne Mall for the afternoon and will shop with the money earned for gifts for those in need during this holiday season.

All of the money is used to help purchase gifts for people and families in both the OMS community and Dane County through the Sharing Tree at West Towne Mall.  We usually purchase gifts for at least 10-15 families who have students at the OMS and who may not have gifts for the holidays without this program.  We also use money to buy gifts, around 15-20 each year, for those in need whose names are on the Sharing Tree at the mall.

Last year we raised over $3,100 as a school which we were able to purchase gifts with for those in need.  This your our goal will be to hit that number again!
This is a Competition, What Can We Win?
There will be 3 prizes handed out to the top donating (per person) Connections Classes.

Grand Prize in the School - Lunch Party (I'll get it from pretty much anywhere)
Beyond the grand prize, the top 7th Grade & Top 8th Grade Connections - Ice Cream Party

On behalf of the OMS Student Council I want to thank you for any support you have given in the past on this fundraiser and also thank you for your support this year!
